Right next door, you’ll find the legendary Adelaide River Cruises, home of the original Jumping Crocodile Experience. Step aboard and witness the awe-inspiring power of the saltwater crocodile as they launch from the river just metres away.
Unlike anywhere else in the world, these encounters are completely wild — the crocodiles choose to interact, giving you an authentic glimpse into their behaviours and dominance over the river system. You’ll hear the crack of jaws, see the muscles ripple, and feel the thrill of being eye-to-eye with one of nature’s most formidable predators.
With local legends like Brutus and Dominator often making appearances, this is a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience that blends adrenaline, education, and the raw beauty of the Top End.

Dawn — Fogg Dam at First Light
Set your alarm. It's worth it.
Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve at sunrise is one of the great natural spectacles of northern Australia. As the first golden rays break across the Adelaide River flood plains, the wetlands erupt, magpie geese lift in their thousands, jabiru stalk the shallows in the early mist, brolgas move through the long grass and the whole landscape shifts from silver to gold in the space of twenty minutes.
Walk the boardwalks as the Top End wakes up around you. There is nowhere else on earth quite like this at dawn.
Morning — Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruise
From Fogg Dam, it's a short drive to the Adelaide River, for the most iconic wildlife encounter in the Northern Territory.
Step aboard and feel the energy shift as massive saltwater crocodiles emerge from the water right beside the boat. Brutus. Dominator. Animals that have been here longer than memory, launching from the river in front of you. Expert commentary throughout; raw, wild, and genuinely unforgettable.
Midday — Hooked on Barra
After the crocs, it's time to catch something yourself.
Cast a line into our purpose-built barramundi ponds above the Adelaide River flood plains, the same wetlands you walked at dawn, now warm and alive under the full Top End sun. Rods, reels and lures provided. Cold drink at the licensed bar. The barra hit hard and they don't give up easily.
No boat, no experience, no problem. Just you, the fish, and one of the best settings in Australia.
One half-day. Three experiences. The real Top End.

Awesome experience! The 1-hour land-based fishing was perfect for our short trip. Quick intro, all gear provided, and we were straight into casting. I landed a barra and got the perfect brag pic! Surrounded by wetlands and birdlife — we even spotted a buffalo. Great fun, even for beginners!

Did the Hooked on Barra tour with my son — we had a blast! Everything was ready to go, and the guides were great with casting tips. My son caught a barra and was stoked. Beautiful setting and an easy hour of action. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the NT!

Loved it! I’m a beginner and still caught my first barra thanks to the helpful team. All gear was provided, and the setting was stunning — wetlands, birdlife, and even a croc sighting!

Absolutely. Whether you’ve never held a rod or you’re chasing that first barra thrill, we’ve got you covered. Our team gives a quick lesson and sets you up with gear that’s easy to handle — no experience needed, just a good attitude and maybe a bit of luck.
Definitely. Kids aged 3 and up are welcome to join in the fun. It’s safe, educational, and a blast for the whole family. Just keep in mind that children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

All fishing happens from secure, land-based casting zones — some shaded, all clearly marked. We also have throwable floatation buoys on hand for emergencies, and staff are always nearby to help. You’ll get a safety briefing before you start so everyone feels confident and relaxed.
Not at all. Since it’s a private land-based experience, there’s no fishing licence required. Just book, show up, and we’ll handle the rest.
It’s catch and release only — but you’ll still walk away with a great story and, if you're quick with the camera, a brag-worthy photo. We encourage guests to snap their own pics and share the barra love.
We’ve kept it simple and close to nature. You’ll find shaded areas, benches, and basic bush toilets. We don’t sell food or drinks, so feel free to bring a snack and plenty of water. The real value here is the setting — pure, scenic Top End wilderness.
We’re about an hour and fifteen minutes from Darwin. Head south on the Stuart Highway, then turn left onto the Arnhem Highway and continue past Humpty Doo. When you reach Anzac Parade, turn left and follow it all the way to the end. You’ll see the Humpty Doo Barramundi Farm boom gate — don’t bother stopping there, you’ll be waiting a while. Instead, take the NT track to the right about 100 metres before the boom gate. Follow that road straight to the water — you’ll find us at the end. Visit our Getting Here Page for more information.
